Resource Planning Funding Request

The Resource Planning Funding Request is for a mini-grant for non-profits and can be submitted on a rolling basis from January to November.  It is the responsibility of each applicant to submit all required information and documents.  To help us, and yourself, please review the checklist carefully.  The Leon H. Sullivan Charitable Trust (LHSCT) reserves the right not to accept, without notice, any proposal that is incomplete.

CONTEXT AND DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSAL

1.      Submit your request on company/organization letterhead.

2.      Provide a brief background, mission statement and general information for the organization.

3.      Provide a detailed description of the project including but not limited to geographic area of the population served and expected results for the project

4.      Describe the proposed activities to be performed

5.      Include total cost for the project and total funds requested (max request $2,500.00)

 REQUIRED DOCUMENTS/ATTACHMENTS

o   IRS 501 (c) (3) Tax exemption certificate

o   List of Board of Directors

o   Most recent audit statement or internal financial statement

o   Organization’s project budget

PROPOSAL SUBMISSION

Organizations may apply once each calendar year; however, chances of receiving funding each year is not guaranteed.  Proposals are accepted January 1st thru November 1st each year.  Any proposal submitted after November cannot be considered for the current year.  Proposals submitted by mail must be postmarked on or before the November 1st deadline date.  Organizations will be notified no more than 6 weeks after receipt of their proposal.

Moving Mountains Grant – Now Open

The Moving Mountains Grants will focus on projects aligned with these Strategic Plan program areas: Education and Training or Economic Development, as described below. The application cycles open in Spring (deadline May 15th and awarded in June) and Fall (deadline November 15th and awarded in December).

Grantees are awarded $5,000.

In response to the challenges small business owners face in today’s environment, we are supporting entrepreneurs, especially minority and indigenous-owned, as they address their short-term needs and strengthen their overall sustainability.   2. Provide a detailed description of the project, including but not limited to the geographic area of the population served or targeted customer based and expected results for the project
  3. Describe the proposed activities to be performed
  4. Budget: Include the total breakdown cost for the project and total funds requested (max request $5000)

An organization may apply once each calendar year; however, chances of receiving subsequent funding are not guaranteed. Applications are accepted twice a year. Any application submitted after the deadline cannot be considered. All applications must be submitted electronically by the deadline date. Organizations will be notified six (6) weeks after receipt of their proposal.
